Welcome to Cape Ann Skeptics

We are a group of people interested in exploring the world with a skeptical point of view.

Our definition of skepticism is "rational, critical, and scientific thinking." We are not cynics nor contrarians. Rather, we are people who look at the world rationally.

Skeptics in the Pub on Cape Ann

Like Skeptics in the Pub meetings around the world, we gather as an opportunity for skeptics to meet one another and share ideas.

This month, Oct.17th, Skeptics in the Pub will be at the Cape Ann Cinema and Stage for the the documentary movie, Food Evolution. The doors open at 7:00, the film begins at 7:30. Cape Ann Skeptics is co-sponsoring this movie which tackles the misinformation surrounding GMO and is narrated by Neil deGrasse Tyson.

Daniel Gold, reviewer from the New York Times says, “With a soft tone, respectful to opponents but insistent on the data, “Food Evolution” posits an inconvenient truth for organic boosters to swallow: In a world desperate for safe, sustainable food, G.M.O.s may well be a force for good.”

Cape Ann Cinema and Stage, 21 Main St, Gloucester, offers beer, wine and snacks for sale. The Skeptics will not be offering Pizza for sale as we have done in the past. We hope to see all the Skeptics there!!!! This movie is open the public as part of the Cinema’s Documentary Film Festival.
