Welcome to Cape Ann Skeptics

We are a group of people interested in exploring the world with a skeptical point of view.

Our definition of skepticism is "rational, critical, and scientific thinking." We are not cynics nor contrarians. Rather, we are people who look at the world rationally.

Skeptics in the Pub on Cape Ann

Like Skeptics in the Pub meetings around the world, we gather as an opportunity for skeptics to meet one another and share ideas.

Meetings are generally scheduled for the third Tuesday of every month. There is no cost or registration.

On Tues, Oct. 18th, Rich Sagall will present Medical Studies: The Good, The Bad and The Inconsequential. Rich will discuss the various study designs, how to decide which to accept, and interpretation pitfalls.
In addition, Mark Warhol will present the paper "Longevity and Morbidity in the Irish Wolfhound in the United States - 1966 to 1986" as an illustration of some of the difficulties encountered when conducting a scientific study in pursuit of a definitive answer.

We meet in the function room of The Pilot House Restaurant, 3 Porter St., Gloucester.

6:00 Begin gathering to socialize and order food and drink
6:45 The program begins with short videos and miscellaneous fun

Everyone interested in skepticism is welcome!
